Munther Al-Hayek, the spokesperson for the “Fatah” movement in Gaza, affirmed the movement’s categorical rejection of any foreign administration of the Gaza Strip, emphasizing that its reference point must be from within the Palestinian territories.
He clarified that the Palestine Liberation Organization is “the guarantor and the sole reference for the Palestinian people” in both the West Bank and the Gaza Strip.
In statements to “Sky News Arabia,” Al-Hayek stated that Israel is striving to completely end the Palestinian presence, pointing out that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has worked hard to fight and weaken the Palestinian Authority, adding: “We cannot align ourselves with Netanyahu’s policy.”
Al-Hayek strongly affirmed that the “Fatah” movement has never left the Gaza Strip, confirming that East Jerusalem will remain the eternal capital of the State of Palestine, and that the national unity project faces continuous challenges.
Regarding the recent political endeavors, he described the meeting that brought together the Palestinian factions in Cairo as “vague in form and content,” calling for the adoption of a unified national path and a unified Palestinian legitimacy.
The “Fatah” movement also announced its support for holding comprehensive Palestinian elections after the end of the war, stressing that “we cannot eliminate Hamas, nor can it eliminate us,” in a clear reference to the importance of reaching an understanding regarding the next stage.
Al-Hayek concluded his message to the “Hamas” movement by saying: “Either unification of the Palestinian geography or separation.”
